Perinatal Comfort Zone

2 Day Course

Facilitator Training

This course equips facilitators to deliver the Perinatal Comfort Zone (PCZ) programme. The PCZ is a psychoeducational programme delivered to parents over 12 weeks and is designed to equip them with techniques and tools for managing anxiety and depression related to pregnancy and birth. Each session lasts for 2 hours and covers theoretical and practical aspects of mental health within the perinatal period. Based on both occupational and cognitive-behavioural principles, the sessions are wide ranging in themes such as anxiety, mindfulness, food & mood, creativity, music & sensory, roles & routines, self esteem, challenging unhelpful thoughts, exercise, medication and more. Each session is very experiential so that parents can really find out what tools work for them.

A training handbook containing step-by-step guides for each session is provided, along with supporting documentation for use within the programme. On completion of training you will be issued with a licence for delivery of the Perinatal Comfort Zone programme.
